UHON - Logo design, demographic research
UHON DEVELOPMENT
THE CLIENT
Over the past 20 years, Uhon’s parent company, Shenzhen Yuhong, has constructed properties on over 32 million square feet across mainland China. And these weren’t just buildings; they’re entire communities.
CHALLENGE

Create a North American counterpart for an established property developer in China. It must appeal to the North American audience while maintaining a Chinese connection.

INSIGHT

Although Uhon is developing properties in North America, they still plan to work largely with Chinese businesses and would need to appeal to a Chinese market.

CONCEPT

While searching through Chinese characters, I discovered one that resembled the English letter "H" that also happened to translate as "Rise" in Chinese. It was the perfect way to bind the two cultures under one idea.

WORDMARK DESIGN
A minimalist wordmark that reflects the contemporary style of Uhon’s new buildings through the double meaning of the letter "H." This will be incorporated into future branding.
RUSHAN WU, CEO
“Somehow, Andy managed to sift through tens of thousands of Chinese characters to find the one that would symbolize Uhon perfectly. Quite impressive.”
