Rick, CEO of Castle Group inspections, came to us with a great idea: To ease the home inspection process through an app that allowed users to do it directly on their iPads.
To offer an accessible and easy-to-understand product design to facilitate the process of inspecting homes.
Developing an app that enabled its users to access the necessary functions and features to make their reports.
A successful product that changed the way home inspectors made their reports, making it simple and functional.
A product design that creates professional home inspections from your tablet.
To achieve a simple navigation, a complex product design process was required. Working with the client when planning, sketching and prototyping was a key part of the process.

I’ve been inspecting homes and buildings for over thirty years, and I wish they would of had this product design years ago. I tried two other reporting systems and experimented with many, but the Fortreports software is by far the easiest to work with.
Conducting a design sprint with the client was key to fleshing out the concept. After several mockups, pivots, and tests with prototypes, we arrived at the key features and final architecture.
We established repetitive user conventions that were easy to become familiar with.
Users could add their company branding and edit categories or titles at their convenience.
The final report is generated as a single responsive webpage or PDF that can be shared instantly.
Developing a simple and highly functional product design is not easy, especially when there are multiple features that need to be part of it. This design process allowed us to create a user friendly product that covered every possible aspect that our users encountered when inspecting a property.
